Purchases of Gift Cards:
- Gift card sales are non-refundable and must be used within 5 years of the purchase date or the last reload of the card
In Pennsylvania, gift certificates unredeemed for two years after the expiration of their redemption period, or five years from the date of issuance if they contain no expiration date, are presumed abandoned and escheat to the state. Escheat laws require that unclaimed property be turned over to the state after a certain period.
However, gift certificates are not considered property and therefore not subject to the escheat laws. Pennsylvania law holds that gift certificates are written contracts to perform a service or deliver a good by a specified date upon presentation of the certificate. However, should such a certificate expire (ie. contracts expire), the issuer has no legal obligation to perform the service or deliver the product after the expiration period.
DCSJR Golf Academy gift certificates have an expiration date of 1 year from the date of issue (ie. redemption period of 1 year). David Smith will continue to honor gift certificates for up to 3 years from the date of issue or "two years after the expiration of their redemption period". Three years after the date of issue, DCSJR Golf Academy gift certificates will be considered abandoned and no longer valid for redemption.
Purchase of Prepaid Series
- Lessons in Series are 3 or more
- All lessons in the series are discounted at least 20%
- Lessons in series are all prepaid in full for the total number of lessons in the series
- Lessons in series must be completed within the Calander year they are purchased
- Lessons in series are not transferable and must be completed by the purchaser
- Students are responsible for booking all the lessons in the series
Cancellation Policy
- Students are asked to cancel no later than 24 hours in advance if the scheduled lesson
- All cancellations less than the 24-hour window will be charged as a completed lesson
Inclement Weather Policy
- All lessons at DCSJR Golf Academy are given under cover or inside a building
- Lessons will only be cancelled due to weather in the event of extreme/dangerous weather conditions to include:
- Hurricane, lightning or tornadic activity
- Lessons will not be charged when cancellation occurs due to extreme/dangerous weather conditions
